Appointments

All surgeries are by appointment only. These can be booked in advance by telephoning the surgery.

Appointment times vary but usually begin at 09.00 until 12.00 with afternoon surgeries from 14.30. Before 08.00 and after 18.30 you will be connected to the out-of-hours service who will not be able to book appointments or provide other information. They will of course be able to deal with emergency calls until the practice staff take over at 08.00 each weekday morning.

We operate a triage system by which the duty doctor each day will call back any patient who requests to be seen on that day. This may result in the doctor booking an apportionment for you or he may be able to help in some other way without the need for you to come to surgery. There is no need to call at exactly 08.00 to request to be included in the triage list as the duty doctor will be calling patients back throughout the day.

It may not always be possible to see the doctor of your choice if you telephone on the day you wish to have an appointment. If you wish to see a particular doctor you should contact us outside of the early morning rush and we will offer you the next available appointment with that doctor. You may be offered, or request a telephone consultation with your doctor if this is appropriate and you do not need an examination.
